The volume of assets managed by QFC has risen to $28.3 billion and its platform has become home to more than 1,500 local and global companies, according to its chief executive, Youssef Mohammed Al Jaida.
The growth of the Centre's business accelerated with the development of the Qatari economy, after it announced in 2018 that it was aiming to register 1,000 companies on its platform and attract investments totalling $25 billion, by 2022, and it had achieved what it stood for, according to Qatar State News Agency (QNA).
The number of companies registered on the Center's platform at the end of 2021 reached 1,284 with 80 financial technology companies and more than 300 digital companies and more than 40 sports companies, the new digital companies registered by the Center in the first half of 2022 make up about 25% of the total companies Financial companies account for about 16%, including fintech companies.
Qatar's share of total value added increased by about 47%, and by about 25% in jobs, currently, compared to 2018.
Qatar Finance Center received investment flows from 48 countries in the Middle East, Asia and Europe during the first half of 2022, according to Al Jadeed.
