RBC Capital Markets has appointed Laurent Van Hollemeersch as Managing Director and Global Head of Equity Structured Products Trading, while also naming him Global Co-Head of Equity Quantitative Investment Solutions (QIS) Trading. The move strengthens the bank’s senior leadership across structured products and systematic investment strategies.
Based in New York, Van Hollemeersch joins RBC Capital Markets after more than two decades at Societe Generale, where he built extensive experience across equity derivatives, structured products and QIS trading.
Van Hollemeersch began his career at Societe Generale in 2005 as a structured flow trader, working across light exotic products and solutions aimed at hedge fund clients.
Over the following years, he moved into increasingly senior trading positions. His previous roles included Head of Hybrid and QIS Trading for the Americas and Head of US Equity Derivatives Volume and QIS Trading, giving him significant experience across systematic strategies and structured equity products.
His move to RBC marks a major career transition after more than 20 years with the French banking group. Regulatory records indicate that he joined RBC Capital Markets in August 2026 following his departure from SG Americas Securities.
The appointment comes as RBC Capital Markets continues to strengthen its global equities business, particularly in areas including structured derivatives, quantitative investment strategies and electronic trading.
RBC’s Global Markets platform provides institutional clients with services across equities, derivatives, structured products, financing and quantitative investment strategies, supported by the bank’s international trading infrastructure.
The firm has also highlighted its broader investment in QIS and structured products as part of its strategy to expand its global equities franchise.
Van Hollemeersch’s appointment brings an experienced equity derivatives executive into RBC’s senior trading team and is expected to support the bank’s continued development of structured products and quantitative investment solutions for institutional clients worldwide.
