Mastercard and Banque Misr partnership boosts Egyptian Digital Payments System

Banque Misr signed a long-term cooperation agreement with MasterCard Digital Payments Technology to enable the Bank to state-of-the-art digital payments technology to deliver new products, services and innovative solutions to customers across all segments and to support digital solutions with sophisticated and competitive advantages in line with the country's strategy to achieve comprehensive digital transformation and encourage electronic payment systems.

Under this agreement, MasterCard provides Banque Misr with innovative payment technologies to provide the tools and solutions needed to support the Bank's ambitious growth plans and strategy, increase operational efficiencies and create beneficial experiences for customers. The agreement also contributes to the provision of tailored services to Banque Misr including issuance solutions, acceptance and short-term and long-term consultancy.

MasterCard, through its Client Services Consultants Centre, provides high-level consulting services to develop customer experience, add tangible value, attract more clients and raise their loyalty. These services are aimed at encouraging customers to use digital payments for their ease, security and control, helping to transform into a cashless society.

The agreement was signed by Mohamed Al-Yatrabi, Chairman of Banque Misr, and Dimitrios Dausis The event was held in the presence of Khaled Al-Jabali Regional President of MasterCard in the Middle East and North Africa Region, Wakif Al-Morocco, Vice Chairman of Banque Misr, and Adam Jones Director General of the Middle East and North Africa Central Region, Ihab Durra, Head of Branch and Retail Banking Sector, Bank of Egypt and a number of leaders of Bank of Egypt and MasterCard.
