UAE signs green hydrogen export agreement with 4 Dutch companies

The UAE signed an agreement with 4 Dutch companies on Sunday to explore ways to export green hydrogen to Europe.

According to UAE news agency WAM, Abu Dhabi Future Energy "Masdar" announced the signing of an agreement with 4 Dutch companies to supply green hydrogen to the European market.

According to the UAE company, these Dutch companies are the "Port of Amsterdam", "Sky NRG", "Ivos Amsterdam" and "Zenith Energy."

The UAE company confirmed that the agreement's focus will be on production in Abu Dhabi and export to the Netherlands through the port of Amsterdam, indicating that green hydrogen exported will be delivered to key European sectors, such as: "sustainable aviation fuel, iron industry, and fuel provision for shipping vessels."

The International Renewable Energy Agency had projected that the global green hydrogen market would reach US $72 billion by 2030, while BWC estimated that demand for hydrogen could range from 150 to 500 million metric tons per year by 2050.

The UAE company Masdar announced last December the launch of its new green hydrogen department, which aims to boost its production capacity to reach 100 GW of renewable energy and produce 1 million tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030 year.
