Data from Mobility Sweden revealed today, Monday, a significant decline in new Tesla car registrations in Sweden during October 2025, with only 133 cars registered, compared to 1,175 cars in the same period last year, representing a decrease of 88.7%.
The report indicated that registrations of the Tesla Model Y dropped by 88.7%, while Model 3 registrations fell by 90.8%. There were no new registrations for the Model X in October, compared to four registrations in the same month last year. In contrast, registrations for the Model S increased, but this did not offset the sharp decline in other Tesla models.
In terms of competing companies, BMW recorded a 30.9% increase in new registrations to reach 1,338 cars, while Fiat saw a rise of 33.5% to 211 registrations, and Hyundai experienced a 25.7% increase to 295 new registrations. This disparity indicates the impact of Tesla’s decline on the Swedish market share in favor of other companies.
This sharp decline in Tesla registrations points to challenges the company is facing in Sweden, possibly due to decreased demand or increasing competition from European and Asian firms. With this trend continuing, Tesla may need to adjust its marketing and production strategies to boost its sales in the European market, focusing on models that meet local consumer needs and reclaim its competitive position among electric vehicles.
