Dow Inc (NYSE:DOW) announced Monday it plans to shut down three upstream European assets due to structural challenges in the region.
The chemical company said the asset shutdowns would result in a $200 million EBITDA uplift by 2029.
Approximately 800 Dow roles will be impacted by these closures, according to the company’s statement.
Dow will record charges between $630 million and $790 million related to the asset shutdowns.
The company specified that its chlor-alkali and vinyl assets in Schkopau will shut down in the fourth quarter of 2027.
