Edison (EDNn.MI) has signed a deal with a renewable energy fund managed by German asset manager KGAL to build a solar plant with an installed capacity of around 150 megawatts in central Italy, the Italian energy group said on Tuesday.
The plant is expected to be operational in the Lazio region in the second half of 2024. Under a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), Edison will collect all the renewable energy produced.
The value of the deal between Edison and KGAL's fund KGAL ESPF 4 was not disclosed.
"The plant will produce around 240 GWh per year, avoiding the emission of more than 100,000 tons of CO₂ equivalents into the atmosphere per year," Edison said in a statement.
