Lloyds Banking Group has appointed Jane Gilmour as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), effective January 2027, strengthening its technology leadership as the British banking group advances its digital transformation strategy.
Gilmour will join Lloyds from HSBC, where she has served as Chief Technology Officer for Group Functions Technology since August 2024. She will succeed Victor Weigler, who announced his retirement in April after a long career with the banking group.
With more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership, Gilmour has held senior positions across financial services and international corporations, including Marks & Spencer, The Coca-Cola Company, GE Capital, Barclays and JPMorgan.
In her new position, Gilmour will oversee major technology initiatives supporting Lloyds' Accelerate 2030 strategy, focusing on modernizing core platforms, strengthening engineering capabilities, improving operational resilience and supporting innovation across the organization.
She will report to Ron van Kemenade, Group Chief Operating Officer of Lloyds Banking Group, working closely with the bank's leadership to support technological development while maintaining security and reliability across its financial services operations.
The appointment comes as Lloyds increases investment in digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and technology modernization to improve customer experiences and operational efficiency.
Gilmour's arrival marks another step in Lloyds Banking Group's efforts to strengthen its technology capabilities and support long-term growth in an increasingly digital banking environment.
