The Federal Open Market Committee will meet as planned this week and will also issue all its scheduled releases, the central bank said in a statement on its website.

The Fed kicks off a two-day meeting from Tuesday, and is widely expected to leave interest rates unchanged at 3.75% on Wednesday.

Washington D.C. was hit with dangerous levels of snow and sleet in recent days, closing roads and causing disruptions across the city. Several federal agencies announced closures due to the extreme conditions.

This came as a winter storm battered several parts of the U.S. in recent weeks.
