GCEX has promoted Alya Marrakchi to Managing Director of GC Exchange FZE, the group’s Dubai-based digital asset broker-dealer, following approval from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA).
Marrakchi joined GCEX in June 2025, where she focused on institutional sales and relationship development across the UAE and wider Gulf region. Since then, she has contributed to expanding the company’s regional client base and commercial activity.
Before joining GCEX, Marrakchi held business development roles at Hubpay in Abu Dhabi and Clarify B2B in London. Earlier in her career, she also worked with RisKover, a Moody’s Analytics partner specializing in financial regulation and risk.
In her new position, Marrakchi will lead GC Exchange FZE, which serves qualified and institutional investors from Dubai. The entity operates under a VARA Virtual Asset Service Provider licence for broker-dealer activities.
GCEX provides institutional clients with services spanning digital asset and FX liquidity, prime brokerage and white-label technology. Founded in 2018, the group has operations across several international markets, including the UK, Denmark and the UAE.
The promotion adds to GCEX’s senior leadership presence in Dubai as the company continues to develop its institutional offering in the region.
