European stock indices opened higher on Monday, as investors prepared for the closure of the U.S. stock market for Presidents' Day, ahead of a busy week for economic data.

In terms of trading performance, European stock indices today were as follows:

The Euro Stoxx 600 index rose by 0.24% to record 553.71 points. The French CAC 40 index fell by 0.06%, recording 8,173.76 points. The German DAX index increased by 0.39% to reach 22,600.50 points. The British FTSE 100 index rose by 0.10% to 8,741.31 points. The Italian FTSE MIB index jumped by 0.95%, reaching 38,340.02 points. The Spanish IBEX 35 index decreased by 0.42% to record 13,010.60 points.
