Egypt's trade balance deficit widened to $3.1 billion in November 2023

Egypt's trade deficit widened by 5% in November 2023, reaching $3.07 billion compared to $2.9 billion in the same month of 2022, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.

The value of exports decreased by 20.6% in November, amounting to $3.21 billion. This decline is attributed to a decrease in the exports of certain goods, including ready-made garments, petroleum products, crude oil, and fertilizers.

On the other hand, the value of imports decreased by 9.9% during the same month, totaling $6.28 billion. This decrease is due to a decline in the imports of certain commodities such as wheat, primary plastics, corn, and soybeans.
