Oman attracts more Gulf Cooperation Council investors in 2022

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Oman announced that the number of registered commercial licenses for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) investors in the Sultanate during the past year 2022 reached 527, increasing by 16.3% compared to 2021, which amounted to 453.

The cumulative number of commercial licenses by the end of 2022 reached 7,859. 

The number of registered commercial licenses for Saudi investors during last year reached 185, bringing the cumulative number to 1,504. Meanwhile, the number of registered commercial licenses for UAE investors registered during the year amounted to 164, bringing the cumulative number to 3,695 . According to the Oman News Agency. 

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry affirmed that its work plan is represented in diversification and economic growth, raising the Sultanate's classification in international indicators and added local value, promoting foreign direct investment, balanced development in governorates, and enhancing and diversifying exports.

The ministry pointed out that the multiple initiatives and plans it introduced during the past period aim to facilitate procedures and contribute to promoting investment opportunities and attracting high-quality investments in sectors of economic diversification.
