The National Bank of Egypt has announced the opening of one of its heritage branches, Tawfik, after undergoing extensive renovations. The Tawfik branch is located on Salah Salem Street in the heart of Alexandria and is considered one of the bank's historic branches.
The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Major General Mohamed Tahir Al Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, Hisham Akasha, Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, Yahia Abu El Fath, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, Dalia El Baz, also Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, Karim Souss, CEO of Retail Banking and Branches, and Dr. Ashraf El Bakry, Head of Projects at the National Bank of Egypt.
The Tawfik branch is over 120 years old and covers an area of 1,800 square meters. It is characterized by its classic and historic façade and its prime location in the heart of Alexandria. The renovation of the branch was done using modern construction techniques specifically designed to deal with historic buildings, in order to preserve their unique character.
The branch includes a ground floor for tellers and an electronic branch, while the other two floors contain administrative offices and customer service. The branch was developed while preserving the National Bank of Egypt's distinctive identity, and equipped with the latest technological methods in banking services, supported by a strong infrastructure that the bank is committed to continuously updating. The bank also ensures that its staff are trained to provide the best service to its customers.
