Qatar's trade balance surplus rises by 10% to SAR 28.2 billion in December 2022

Qatar's merchandise trade balance surplus in December 2022 increased by 10% year-on-year to SAR 28.2 billion.

Data from the Planning and Statistics Authority showed last month the value of Qatari exports increased by 7.6% year-on-year to 38.3 billion riyals, while the value of merchandise imports was 10.1 billion riyals, up 1.4% from December 2021.

China was the top destination country for Qatar's exports in December, valued at SAR 8.4 billion, representing 21.9% of the total value of Qatari exports, while the United States of America was the top exporter of Qatar's imports worth SAR 2 billion and 19.7% of the total value of merchandise imports.
