Vodafone Idea Thursday said it has received the Global System and Organizational Controls 2 (SOC2) Type 1 compliance certificate for its managed security services.
The compliance has been approved by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and audited by CPA of VISTA InfoSec, Vodafone Idea said in a statement.
SOC2 is an auditing standard that reports the efficacy of internal controls based on the SOC2 Trust Service Criteria parameters such as Security, Privacy, Availability, Confidentiality, and Processing Integrity of Information System (IT) function.
Further, the development means Vodafone Idea’s services are “fully secure and compliant”, said the telco, adding that the audit included review of the DDOS services, data centres, network sites, and their environment in terms of safety, security, carbon footprint, and others.
“The magnitude and the number of recurring cyber-attacks have sensitized the need and adoption of cyber security. Undertaking the SOC2 audit was a strategic decision to validate that our internal controls are well aligned with best security practices and ensures delivery of the highest quality standard services to clients,” said Mathan K Babu, CTSO, Vodafone Idea Limited.
“This would go a long way in winning the trust of our clients in this digital era,” Babu added.
