The National Bank of Egypt has signed a cooperation protocol with the Chamber of Commerce in Cairo with the aim of providing electronic collection service for annual contributions and fees collected by the Chamber of Commerce through the Bank's spread branches, supporting digital transformation and providing electronic financing solutions for small, medium and micro enterprises.
Following the signing, Hisham Akasha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) stated that the Protocol is a consolidation of financial inclusion adopted by the National Bank of Egypt and the State, and pursuing the Bank's
strategy to reach all segments of society Stressing the Bank's commitment to complementing its support to SMEs through the introduction of innovative financial and non-financial banking services programs and models that serve its sustainable growth by facilitating borrowing, supporting digital transformation and providing electronic financing solutions. This is due to the role of these
projects in meeting the needs of the local market to achieve growth, increase the supply of products in the domestic market and deepen manufacturing, In addition to creating more jobs and supporting the financial inclusion of all segments of society.
For his part, Ibrahim al-Arabi, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Cairo, expressed his pride in cooperating with the NBE and its positive role in supporting and financing national projects and contributing to their digital transformation He noted that a representative from the Chamber will be studied to be present in some branches of the Bank to provide the services of the Chamber, including the extraction of commercial records of companies, In addition to providing an office for a representative of the bank in some of the room's headquarters, to receive requests for the provision of banking services to individuals and companies and transfer them to their nearest branch.
Yahya Abu al-Fattouh, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Egypt, added that the protocol includes the provision of products and banking services to entrepreneurs and individuals such as opening accounts .
Issuing joint electronic payment cards and using them for electronic collection as well as answering queries and providing the necessary financing for projects, whether through the bank's representative offices available at the premises of the Chamber or at the branches of the Bank.
Tarek Hassan, Chairman of the Group of Small and Medium Enterprises of the NBE, indicated that funding programs dedicated to the activities of the people of the Chamber will be made available through various programs such as Al Ahli Business in addition to qualifying, developing and training entrepreneurs for new projects, The Bank recognizes that financing is not the main obstacle facing entrepreneurs and is keen to support them in preparing feasibility studies and how to design and market the product and other challenges that the Bank seeks to provide appropriate practical solutions to.
