Ripple has expanded its institutional trading services with the launch of real-world asset perpetual swaps through Ripple Prime, enabling professional market participants to access traditional asset exposures around the clock.
The new offering supports trading and settlement 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across more than 100 reference markets, including equities, equity indices, exchange-traded funds, precious metals, energy and foreign exchange.
The swaps provide institutional investors with continuous exposure to markets that have traditionally operated within fixed trading sessions, creating additional flexibility for portfolio management and responding to global market developments.
Ripple Prime acts as principal in these transactions, with the products referencing perpetual futures contracts listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid, a blockchain-based derivatives trading platform.
Institutional trading firm Virtu is among the clients using the service, reflecting growing interest in digital infrastructure that connects traditional financial assets with cryptocurrency-based trading technology.
The expansion comes as financial institutions increasingly explore blockchain-based solutions for trading, collateral management and settlement, particularly in markets where conventional operating hours can limit access.
By introducing real-world asset derivatives into its prime brokerage offering, Ripple aims to strengthen its position in institutional digital finance and support the development of more integrated financial market infrastructure.
The launch demonstrates how blockchain technology is creating new opportunities for continuous trading while bringing additional attention to liquidity, market risk and institutional oversight.
