Plus500 Agrees to Acquire Brazilian Broker Guru in Major Latin American Expansion

Plus500 has announced a conditional agreement to acquire full ownership of Guru, a regulated Brazilian broker-dealer, as the global fintech group accelerates its expansion across Latin America.

The proposed acquisition represents a strategic entry into Brazil, the region's largest economy and one of the world's most active derivatives trading markets. It follows Plus500's expansion into Colombia and builds on its existing business-to-business partnership with Brazilian financial technology provider Nelogica.

Through Guru's established local operations and regulatory position, Plus500 aims to strengthen its ability to offer a broader range of financial products and trading services in Brazil.

The transaction is aligned with Plus500's strategy to diversify its geographic footprint and expand beyond its traditional retail trading activities into additional investment and market infrastructure services.

The move also reflects growing competition among international fintech companies seeking access to Latin America's expanding investment markets, where local regulatory infrastructure and technology are important factors in long-term growth.

Completion remains conditional, meaning the acquisition should not yet be described as finalized.
