Bitpanda Enterprise has entered into a strategic partnership with Bulgaria's First Investment Bank (Fibank) to integrate cryptocurrency investment services into the My Fibank mobile application, expanding access to digital assets through traditional banking channels.
The agreement, announced on October 7, 2026, is expected to enable more than one million Fibank customers to access cryptocurrency services directly through their existing banking application when the offering launches in early 2027.
Through the collaboration, Bitpanda Enterprise will provide the technological infrastructure supporting digital asset trading and investment, while Fibank will integrate the services into its digital banking platform. The initiative positions Fibank as Bulgaria's first bank to offer integrated cryptocurrency access within its mobile application.
The partnership comes as European financial institutions increasingly explore opportunities to combine traditional banking products with digital assets, responding to changing customer expectations and growing interest in cryptocurrency investment.
Nadeem Ladki, Global Head of Bitpanda Enterprise, emphasized the expanding role of banks in bringing digital assets into mainstream financial services. Meanwhile, Fibank CEO Nikola Bakalov highlighted the importance of developing the bank's digital platform while maintaining compliance with applicable European regulatory requirements.
Bitpanda Enterprise provides digital asset infrastructure to banks and financial institutions across multiple international markets, offering capabilities that include trading, liquidity, custody and payment solutions.
The planned introduction of cryptocurrency services through My Fibank represents another development in Europe's evolving digital banking landscape, highlighting the growing collaboration between established financial institutions and cryptocurrency technology providers.
