SBICAP Securities Limited, operating under the SBI Securities brand, has appointed Mufaddal Matcheswala as Chief Business Officer – Capital Markets, strengthening its leadership team as the company looks to accelerate growth across its retail and institutional businesses. The appointment is effective immediately.
In his new role, Matcheswala will lead SBI Securities’ business strategy across the capital markets division, with responsibility for driving growth, strengthening customer engagement, expanding distribution capabilities and supporting strategic initiatives aimed at improving the company’s market position.
Matcheswala brings more than 23 years of experience in financial services and capital markets, with a background spanning business leadership, distribution, customer acquisition and growth strategy.
Before joining SBI Securities, he spent nearly two decades at HDFC Securities, where he held several senior leadership positions.
Most recently, he served as Chief Business Officer at HDFC Securities. Earlier roles at the company included Chief Growth Officer and responsibility for digital centers, open-market business, B2B operations and alliance sourcing.
His experience covers both retail and institutional businesses, giving him extensive exposure to customer growth, distribution strategy and capital-market operations.
As Chief Business Officer – Capital Markets, Matcheswala is expected to play a central role in SBI Securities’ efforts to expand its market reach and deepen relationships with customers.
The company said his experience in building scalable businesses and driving customer-led growth will support its plans to strengthen distribution and accelerate its broader growth strategy.
Baldev Prakash, Managing Director and CEO of SBICAP Securities, highlighted Matcheswala’s experience in business expansion and execution, noting that his leadership will support the company as it continues developing its capital markets business.
Matcheswala said he plans to work with the company’s leadership team to accelerate growth, improve customer engagement and strengthen distribution while developing customer-focused solutions.
The appointment marks the latest stage in Matcheswala’s long career in India’s financial services industry and brings an experienced capital-markets executive into SBI Securities’ senior leadership team.
