Bank of America Appoints Khaled Darwish as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking for MENA

Bank of America has appointed Khaled Darwish as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking for the Middle East and North Africa, strengthening the bank’s senior leadership as it continues to develop its corporate banking franchise across the region. The appointment was confirmed in a Bank of America statement, with Darwish expected to be based in Dubai.

In his new position, Darwish will lead the bank’s corporate banking activities across MENA, supporting relationships with major corporations, financial institutions, and other strategic clients. His responsibilities are expected to include advancing regional client coverage, developing financing opportunities, and connecting businesses with Bank of America’s global banking capabilities.

Darwish joins Bank of America from HSBC, where he most recently served as Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He initially joined HSBC in 2018 as Head of Debt Capital Markets for MENA before assuming broader regional responsibilities in subsequent years.

His professional background also includes previous experience with J.P. Morgan and Merrill Lynch, providing him with extensive knowledge of corporate finance, debt capital markets, and institutional client coverage. This experience is expected to support Bank of America’s efforts to strengthen its relationships with regional businesses and global companies operating across MENA.

The appointment comes as the Middle East continues to grow in strategic importance for global financial institutions. Companies across the region are increasingly seeking access to international capital, treasury solutions, credit facilities, risk management services, and advisory expertise to support expansion and cross-border activity.

Bank of America’s MENA operations provide corporate and institutional clients with services covering corporate banking, mergers and acquisitions, risk management, and debt and equity solutions. The bank also manages credit processes and delivers treasury and financing products to clients across major industries.

As Head of Corporate Banking for MENA, Darwish is expected to work closely with Bank of America’s investment banking, global markets, and treasury teams to offer integrated solutions to regional clients. The bank’s broader Global Corporate and Investment Banking division serves major corporations, financial institutions, and government agencies through financing, capital markets execution, advisory, and liquidity management services.

The appointment reflects the continued competition among international banks to attract experienced senior leaders capable of connecting regional clients with global capital and financial infrastructure. Darwish’s strong background in debt capital markets and his knowledge of the MENA business landscape position him to support the bank’s next phase of regional development.

With Khaled Darwish joining as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Banking for MENA, Bank of America reinforces its commitment to expanding its corporate client relationships and delivering integrated financial solutions across one of the world’s increasingly important banking markets.
