The Union of Arab Bankers has honored Banque du Caire with the prestigious award for "Best Bank in Egypt for SME Financing and Financial Inclusion 2024". The accolade was presented during the annual awards ceremony, which brought together top banking leaders from across the Arab world, alongside regional and international dignitaries. Mr. Nader Saad, Head of the SME Division at Banque du Caire, received the award on behalf of the bank.
On this occasion, Mr. Ahmed Efat, Deputy CEO of Banque du Caire, expressed pride in this achievement, describing it as a testament to the bank’s extensive expertise in SME financing. He also commended the Union of Arab Bankers for its significant contributions to the Arab banking sector and its efforts to stay at the forefront of global banking advancements.
Mr. Efat reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting the SME sector, which he described as a cornerstone for achieving sustainable development goals. He revealed that the bank’s SME financing portfolio reached approximately EGP 26.1 billion by the end of H1 2024.
Mr. Nader Saad highlighted the bank’s success in securing several prestigious awards this year, including the Gold Award for SME Product Innovation in MENA 2024, making Banque du Caire the first Egyptian bank to receive this recognition. Additionally, the bank won the "Best Digital Lending Solutions Provider 2024" award from The Digital Banker and the Platinum Award for Best SME Lender 2023 for the MENA region.
Beyond financial services, Banque du Caire is equally focused on enhancing financial inclusion through non-financial services. The bank operates eight Business Development Units at its branches as part of the NilePreneurs Initiative, under the supervision of the Central Bank of Egypt. These units offer free-of-charge services to foster entrepreneurship, assist startups and SMEs in launching, managing, and expanding their businesses efficiently, and contribute to national economic growth and project formalization.
